#Twinning: The Parent Trap and Switched At Christmas
December 5th, 2017 | 1 hr 9 mins
candace, dennis quaid, formative media, hallmark, rom coms, switched at christmas, the parent trap, twinning
IDENTITY THEFT IS NOT A JOKE, JIM. This week we are going all in on stories about twins switching lives and #twinning. First, we revisit Kelsey's Formative Media and have a long overdue conversation about The Parent Trap. There's some breaking wine news and plenty of yelling about Dennis Quaid, DILF and One True Dad. Come for Kelsey getting emotional about her early learning in RomComs, stay for the child endangerment. Then we discuss the Hallmark movie, Switched At Christmas, a delightful film in which two fully grown Candaces decide that in order to chase their bliss they must be a different Candace and trick men into falling in love with them. It's a classic hatewatch complete with high end finishes, pink tape measures and egregiously aggressive holiday decorations.

Pass the cranberry sauce! We're having mashed potatoes! It's our Thanksgiving special and we're thankful for you! This week we're starting with an overview of all the Thanksgiving themed episodes, from Linda songs to Bob being a sad sack. Spoiler alert: both Kirstie and Kelsey end up singing and that's something for YOU to be thankful for. Then we begin what will be a 5 week Hatewatch Celebration of Hallmark Movies with The Sweetest Christmas. It's great, as long as you don't get any gumdrops in my garlic knots. We get distracted by the female gaze, Kelsey loves ginger snaps and Kirstie yells about exactly which Starbucks Syrups she has personal beef with. Also gingerbread happens in multitudes. Stay tuned for the next 5 weeks, because from now until New Years we are watching a Hallmark Movie a week!

So the Emmy nominations dropped and our feelings can best be summed up as.....meh??? We debrief our feelings about This Is Us, the number of repeat nominations, air our grievances about the VICIOUS SNUBS, and have nothing to say about several categories. Then, we take a field trip to the motherland and hate watch the Hallmark original movie. Moonlight in Vermont. You're going to learn a lot about syrup grading, maple trees, Montpelier, locally sourced ingredients, and New York real estate agents. Much like the oyster-mushroom-Meet-Cute, this segment is the beginning of something beautiful and unexpected, as Kelsey and Kirstie begin to fall deeply in love with Hallmark Original Movies.
