This week we're reporting live from the floating glamping dome at Château de la Motte-Husson. We wish??? Alas, we are forced to Escape to the Chateau by way of Dick Strawbridge and his enigmatic aura. If you too enjoy watching questionable people make questionable choices with both their home renovation and their business, look no further than this gem that includes highlights such as taxidermy! narrator shade! growing vegetables and eating them! We actually cannot overstate how much we love this show or how many questions we have about Dick Strawbridge's credentials. If you have information about the petty chateau wars, please contact us!

We would also like to advise you against both purchasing a home without the consent of your partner, and singing, in general, at any time. Hopefully you, too, enjoyed this happy ending!

TV Weddings and Outlander Store Dot Com

We're going back to the archives this week with an episode we recorded when we "hadn't talked about Outlander in a while" (what?). Kirstie also drinks one 5.2% ABV beer, so get hype. We kick things off with a discussion of TV wedding tropes, and Kelsey tries desperately to get Kirstie to believe in television romance yet again. Then, we decide it's time to ruin the Outlander fandom's fun and visit OutlanderStore.com, a truly wild place. That's right folks - they've got shower curtains, pocket standees, $500 replica gear - and we're here to bring you hard hitting reporting on all of it. Spoiler alert: Kirstie buys Kelsey half of OutlanderStore.com for her birthday. Also, if you like the show, don't forget to enter us in the Sam Heughan Charity Crossfit Contest! This week we bring you a gift of pure delight. Two shows full of field trips, lessons learned, and throwbacks to other classic hatewatches. We call this, "Cottage Life, UK". First, we bring you Mary Portus, Secret Shopper, where we visit a bridal shop and eat some coleslaw sandwiches. Kelsey finds out trains exist, Mary Portus' origin story is revealed, Kirstie learns vocabulary and we find ourselves trying to navigate some messily told character stories. Then we transition to Weekend Aristocrats, a show about rich white men and their endless fear of plebs. Kelsey gets to relive the show vicariously through this episode, from peacocks to divorces. Come for the Halloween, stay for the tough conversations about socioeconomic inequality and generational aristocracy.
