We were watching a tv show the other daaaaay...

That's right folks, Kirstie watched eight whole seasons of television (ALLEGEDLY) and now it's finally time to talk about Letterkenny, the filthiest show for nice people only. This super soft episode features over 50 minutes of us talking about how much we like this show. Nots to be impolite, but if you have a problem with Letterkenny, you have a problem with us, and we suggest you let that marinate. If you haven't watched it yet... pitter patter!

We are coming to you from The Great Quarantine of 2020 to talk about a very good thing that happened - the final season of Schitt's Creek! We've got lots of thoughts on character development, TV weddings, narrative arcs, and costume choices. We would also like to advise you against both purchasing a home without the consent of your partner, and singing, in general, at any time. Hopefully you, too, enjoyed this happy ending!

This week we are playing shinny with the rink rats and just trying to figure out hockey the equation as we bring you exclusive coverage of Score! A Hockey Musical. Brought to you by league propaganda, the Barenaked Ladies, and Canada, this film is guaranteed to break you in the time it takes to sing a montage about the discovery of self through toxic masculinity and bromance. Also, that guy from Schitt's Creek is there and yes we brought fan fiction.

Schitt's Creek

a little bit alexis, alexis rose, arrested development, canada, canadian broadcasting corporation, cbc, david rose, john rose, lgbtq, moira rose, open mic night, pop, romance, romantic comedy, romcom, schitts creek, the gay agenda, tv guide network

Everything is fine this week as we roll the dice and stay up way past our knitting curfew to give Kelsey a space to yell about all the reasons she was right about Schitt's Creek. It's an act of gate keeping, friendship, self restraint and shitty railroads. We get hype about characters, place, romcoms, sitcoms, Canada, and the Gay Agenda. If you listen to our show because we hate stuff, this is not the episode for you. If you listen to our show and think, "man I wish you liked stuff sometimes?", then this is for you. Come for the salty salts, stay for the shiny clean grand romantic gestures.

Return to Cottage Life UK: Cabins in the Wild and House Doctor

We're revisiting our favorite network in our hearts this week and have found some gems from Netflix's selection of Cottage Life UK content. However, we don't visit Netflix without generating a few gripes, and we have A LOT OF THEM because Netflix has unjustly removed Canadian Cottage Life from their offering. Once we get over our feelings about that (and begin our letter writing campaign), we meet our new friends Dick Strawbridge and Willie Fedora over at Cabins in the Wild. This segment includes Dragon themed cabins, live reports from Snowdonia National Park, and everybody's favorite time - Kirstie and Kelsey google some things about pioneer life. Then we move on to House Doctor (how can I help?), where we meet yet another bag of dicks, Grumpy Old Dickie. We learn a lot about rooms with a point of view and our point of view is that this show is a disaster. This episode wraps up with a discussion of the maple syrup grading system, so don't miss that. Happy sugaring season, y'all!

Bachelor Winter Games and A Princess For Christmas

February 26th, 2018  |  59 mins 47 secs

a princess for christmas, bachelor winter games, buffalo, canada, outlander, romance, sam heughan, vermont

Listen DingleDorks, don't let the name of this episode scare you. It may say Christmas up there but we're really just talking about questionably constructed romances and Sam Heughan's Thighs. We're starting off in the Motherland with Bachelor Winter Games and Kelsey's very first introduction to Bachelor Nation. We have a lot of feelings about Vermont, Chris Harrison's lowkey racism, and Canadians who don't know how to ski. Then, we begin with the Prequel to our Outlander Omnibus with A Princess for Christmas. Good news, it was never really about Christmas. Bad news, we did still watch this movie. Come for the objectification of Sam Heughan's body, stay for the jokes about tight pants and Buffalo. Next week we're coming in hot with all the Outlander content we've been promising you for months, so consider this your warm up episode. We sure did.

First up this week, Sandra Rinomato and her pink tape measure introduce us to the Single Ladies Of Toronto™ and their $750k condo budgets, a true gift from HGTV Canada. Then, we head to Not New Hampshire to continue our #HatewatchHallmark tradition with Chrismas Festival of Ice. From high end finishes made of ice to Christmas boners, this movie truly has it all.

Norsemen and Reno My Reno

Netflix, canada, cottage life, cottage life network, game of thrones, hatewatch, hatewatch with us, knitting tv, monty python, norsemen, podcast, reno my reno, thought bubble audio

This week we are channeling the full spirit of Li'l Hygge with two shows that are members of Li'l Hygge's Knitting Corner. We start with the Netflix original, Norsemen, which is equal parts Game of Thrones, Monty Python, and poop. We apologize. Then, we cover a Netflix offering from our neighbors to the north, Reno My Reno from the Cottage Life Network. As our second Hatewatch from the Cottage Life Network, Reno My Reno starts off as your typical hatewatch, but quickly devolves into Kirstie and Kelsey doing some live, on-air investigative journalism to learn more about this scrappy network. We delve deep into Pinterest, the Cottage Life Convention, and all four of their featured shows. Kelsey then insults Kirstie's motherland, and we all come out of it about as well as the emasculated home owners at the end of their cottage renos.
